Certified Performance

What is Certified Performance?

While looking through this website or any recent Kenall brochure, you’ll find references to certifications and standards such as NSF49, IP65, MIL STD 461E, and others. Each certifies that the subject Kenall fixture has been independently tested and certified to deliver one or more aspects of the fixture performance claimed.

When we say, for example, that our MedMaster™ fixtures for surgical suites “maintain safe levels of radiated and conducted emissions,” the fixture’s MIL STD 461E (Air Force/Navy Fixed) Certification makes it far more than just a claim. Instead, it “certifies” that the fixture will indeed perform as claimed and intended.

That's what we mean by Certified Performance.

When Kenall decides to offer a product for a specialized lighting application, we research every aspect of required fixture performance and seek out the most effective standards and certifications appropriate to the fixture's performance and application environment.

This means going beyond existing industry fixture specifications and features, many of which don't guarantee the product will satisfy the intended purpose. We therefore analyze other standards to determine if they will ensure that the specifier and end-user will get the appropriate and required performance needed for lighting fixtures in critical, demanding and compliance environments. If meeting a standard will ensure appropriate performance, Kenall will pursue that standard when designing the fixture, then formally verifies the fixture's performance through an independent and reputable testing laboratory with the knowledge and equipment needed to undertake the specific certification testing. To assure the customer is receiving value, this certification can then be utilized in specifications to guarantee fixture performance.

After all, with total customer satisfaction as Kenall's overriding mission, we won't produce a fixture that falls short of the highest standard in any appropriate performance area. It's one more reason that doing business with Kenall provides peace of mind for the specifier, contractor, and end-user alike.
