We even commissioned a qualified independent testing lab to adapt the rigorous NSF49 Class II testing protocol for biosafety cabinetry to light fixtures in order to ensure our luminaires could meet the most challenging standard for maintaining the integrity of pressurized environments. Kenall’s K230 standard is so demanding it requires the fixture to maintain two inches of pressure + 10 percent for 30 minutes.

In addition, Kenall’s K230 Performance Standard utilizes definitions created under Federal Standard 209E and ISO 14644-1, to evaluate cleanroom environments. Kenall’s performance measurement utilizes an independent testing lab’s cleanliness class compatibility study (CRS-CCCS-GR2229) to evaluate a fixture’s ability to seal out, and not produce, airborne particles as small as 0.1 micrometer.
